ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED
Parenting and Co-Parenting
Whether parenting in an intact family, in the midst of divorce, or after divorce, raising children has never been more difficult. Especially in the current media and technology environment, today’s parents live in an isolated world, where family is not near, the feeling of community is not apparent, and where children have become engrossed in screens and social media. Through work with individual family needs, Rachelle is able to assist the parenting process, helping to reach collaborative goals and values for your children as well as come to an agreement regarding communication, transitions, and fostering psychosocial development.
Parent Coaching
Often in divorce, especially in high-conflict divorce, a parent who has not been the primary caretaker now needs to step up to the plate as an equal in parenting but does not have the experience or the collaboration necessary to assist in parenting so as to ensure that children thrive. As with parenting, Rachelle offers parent coaching, which is designed to assist the parent who is working with a mediator or therapist but needs more individual instruction regarding the parenting process.
Life Coaching
Life coaching is focused on the present and is directive and instructive in helping the client to achieve very specific goals. Rachelle’s experience as a therapist and the analytical skills she developed as a producer, Coach, and Mentor allow her to hone in on obstacles that prevent clients from reaching their goals, come up with strategies to assist clients in reaching their goals, and hold clients accountable for their actions or inactions, all in a structured and supportive manner to help clients realize their goals and scaffold them to achievement.
common questions
Therapy is not an “overnight fix” to what is happening. Therapy is a process of identifying desired solutions and finding ways that comfortably allow you to move forward to achieve your goals. As a therapist, I work with different methods to help you come to an understanding of the origin of the issues you want to address, and together we find ways to make the changes you desire.
Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes, with the exception of hiking therapy which is typically 90 minutes. If desired, longer sessions can be arranged.
Therapy typically starts with weekly sessions, and as you move toward successfully realizing and achieving your goals, can transition to bi-weekly or monthly.
What is discussed in sessions is confidential with a few important exceptions. The exceptions are if one is a danger to themself and/or others, and disclosures of Child Abuse, and Dependent Adult or Elder Abuse.
